Good intentions.
Clear ground rules.
A contribution matters because it is real. Every mark we leave on the map is part of the trust we place in each other.

Safety before photos
Do not approach hazardous waste, sharp objects, traffic or restricted property. Do not attempt an intervention you cannot carry out safely. SmilesPlanet is not an emergency service or a municipal reporting hotline; contact the relevant authorities in an emergency.
A real place. A real contribution.
Share only situations you have personally observed. Do not use someone else’s photo, old footage, generated evidence or misleadingly altered evidence. Give the correct location; do not repeatedly publish the same work for points. You may create a Smile by responding to someone else’s Report, but not your own. Quick Smile is a separate direct-contribution path.
Approval is not a courtesy vote
Review the evidence presented in a verification round. Do not approve because you know the contributor, like the brand or want a reward. You cannot vote on your own work. Fake accounts, coordinated votes, harassment and discrimination damage community trust.
Check personal information before sharing
Your signature photo and words may be part of a contribution. Do not share phone numbers, home addresses, identity documents, licence plates or someone else’s private information. Respect the necessary rights and permissions for people in images and the content you use. Contact support about content that violates another person’s privacy.
Editing and removal are different
The evidence photos and history of a published event cannot be rewritten afterwards. You may remove only your own reporter/smiler signature photo and words from the card. This is permanent, not temporary hiding or a way to make content visible again later. It cannot remove another person’s contribution or the main before-and-after evidence. We cannot guarantee the recall of copies made while content was public.
Which contributions can you withdraw?
You may withdraw your pending Report, your pending Quick Smile or a pending Smile where you are the smiler. You may also withdraw your approved Report. Withdrawn records enter the rejected-record lifecycle; this does not instantly erase their entire history. An approved Smile is a community-verified result and cannot be withdrawn by a user.
*Only the owner can remove their photo and signature. Before-and-after content is permanent.
Your personal-data rights and right to report unlawful content remain unaffected.
A sapling given is never taken back
A distributed sapling does not disappear if its sponsor later changes their mind. If several people claim the same sapling at once, only the successful claim is confirmed. A sponsor’s map point is not a physical planting location; tree-planting impact takes place through the planting partner’s projects.
