Is SmilesPlanet a social network?
It is a community app that starts with a map and documents real-world contributions. A Report makes a situation that could be improved visible; a Smile records the contribution. The aim is not just to share, but to make a difference between a place’s before and after.
Does artificial intelligence approve contributions?
Every verification you contribute to the ecosystem earns you tokens, and each token lets you report the first step in a new sapling’s journey. We could have left verification to artificial intelligence, but we did not want to run energy-intensive servers while working to restore the planet. Instead of consuming the planet’s resources, we bring our community’s clean collective energy and shared intelligence into action. To help the world grow greener, we believe in the strength of people coming together, not in using more electricity.
What is the difference between a token and a Smile?
Completing verification rounds earns tokens; creating a Report uses a token. An approved Report does not earn a Smile point yet. When a linked Smile is approved, the reporter and the smiler each earn one Smile point. When a Quick Smile is approved, its contributor earns one Smile point. Both roles belong to the same person, so the reward is not doubled. When you reach the current threshold and an eligible sponsored sapling is available, you can use your entitlement to claim it. These are not money or traded cryptoassets; current quantities and thresholds are shown in the app.
How can I claim a sapling?
Sponsors place saplings on the map. You collect Smile points through contributions approved by the community. When you have enough points, you can choose and claim a sapling on the map.
What happens when I claim a sapling?
Your claim and SmilesPlanet certificate are confirmed in the same operation. An impact order is sent to the planting partner, and the project/impact link is added to your certificate. Ecologi also sends you an email. The map point is not the physical tree’s location, and claiming does not mean planting is completed at that moment.
Will I lose my sapling if the sponsor changes their mind?
No. Distributed saplings, claimed contributions and certificate history cannot be taken back by a sponsor’s later decision. A new campaign does not change an older campaign’s history.
Can I change my personal photo or words?
Instead of editing after publication, you can permanently remove your own signature photo and words. This is not a hide-and-restore feature. The main before-and-after evidence is unaffected. Withdrawing the whole event depends on its type and approval status; see Community rules for details.
Does signing up here also sign me into the app?
Membership on this website is for sponsors only. It is separate from your mobile app account: using the same email address does not merge accounts or balances.
What exactly does a sponsor buy?
A one-time advertising package: brand content, the chosen number of sapling points and a meaningful encounter with the community. The price is the total advertising service fee, not a per-sapling charge or a sale of app tokens. Views and claimed saplings can be tracked in campaign management; commercial results are not guaranteed.
Will a package price change affect my existing campaign?
No. The confirmed order’s price, currency and sapling quantity are preserved. Current packages apply to drafts and to new drafts copied from old campaigns. Updating the text/logo/link of a purchased campaign does not buy its package again.
Where can I download the app?
Coming soon for iOS and Android. Official store links will appear on the Downloads page when available. The apps have not yet been released in stores.
