Two separate experiences
The mobile app is for observations, contributions, community verification and claiming sponsored saplings. Website membership is only for sponsor campaign management. A web account does not sign you into the mobile app; counters, identities and entitlements do not transfer between accounts.
Responsibility for accounts and content
Keep account information accurate and do not share sign-in codes. Do not open an account for someone else without permission. You are responsible for the lawfulness of your content and the necessary copyright, trademark and personal permissions. You grant the permission necessary to display and verify your contribution on the service’s relevant maps/cards; this does not transfer ownership of your content. Community rules form part of these terms.
The community economy
Tokens represent the ability to create Reports, Smiles represent approved contributions, and saplings represent sponsored impact that can be claimed under the applicable conditions. Tokens and Smiles are not money, cryptoassets, investments or redeemable monetary claims. Verification tasks and thresholds follow current service rules; current conditions displayed in the app apply. Do not generate entitlement through fake contributions or votes.
Contribution history and personal fields
Evidence of an approved contribution cannot be edited again. The Community rules page explains permanently removing your own signature photo/words and withdrawing an eligible event. You cannot delete other participants’ contributions. Support remains available for privacy concerns, unlawful content and statutory data rights.
Sponsor advertising service
Sponsors buy a one-time advertising package. Package quantity, total price, currency and placement are confirmed at payment; later package updates do not change past payments. Brand text, logo and link may be updated afterwards, but purchased sapling quantities and locations cannot change. There is no guarantee of ad views, sales or claims within a particular period. Illegal products, misleading promises and unauthorised use of brands are not allowed.
What saplings and certificates mean
A SmilesPlanet certificate is a dynamic record of an in-app claim; it is not a land/tree ownership document or a carbon credit. A map location is an advertising visibility point. Real tree-planting impact is connected to the projects and schedules of planting partners such as Ecologi. Claiming does not mean physical planting has been completed at that moment. A distributed sapling cannot be taken back by a sponsor’s later decision.
Service limits and contact
Community review is not an official inspection, safety assessment or emergency response service. Network, map and third-party services may experience interruptions. These terms do not limit statutory consumer or personal-data rights. Updates are published here with a date; past payment terms are not changed retroactively.
